Japandi Spring Makeover
Lydia and Jack McGaw are a couple of young professionals. They have worked hard to get into their chosen carers as lawyers in London. After a bit of luck on the lottery they have decided to change the pace of their life. Now they can afford to move out of the rat race to Farnham in Surrey. They’ve found a contemporary new home within commuting distance from the city, and are keen to make the place their own.
Jack plans to continue his work, but Lydia feels like a change of career. She’s always wanted to write children’s books. Lydia’s style is laid back Scandi, but as Jack wants something with a bit more of an edge they’ve gone for a Japandi theme. This will be calming and welcoming. Having spent their evenings watching Grand Designs and browsing the internet for inspiration, they still need some help with their interior design.
Japandi Colour Palette
Are you wondering where to start on a Japandi interior design? Knowing your colour palette is a great place to start. In this interesting article by Edward George of London you can learn which colours to use. Choose colours for walls and ceilings, secondary colours to use on large items of furniture and accent colours to be used on smaller items. This will give your design a very professional look and feel. Think soft white walls with earthy brown furniture and accent colours of cherry blossom pink and black and you’re already transported to this East meets West design.
Living Room Makeover
This week’s featured makeover is Lydia & Jacks Living Room. This Japandi makeover is a lovely open plan living room. It’s in need of a good colour scheme, so pick your colours wisely! You need to change up the sofa, rug, coffee table, art and accent chair. Avoid stark bright whites and make the space peaceful and perfect for relaxing after a hard day at work.
