The Miller’s Refreshing Scandi Makeover
Charlie and Jen Miller live with their kids Mason (10 years old) and Taylor (who’s just turned 8) at Cannon Beach near Portland in Oregon. They live a busy, family life and the kids both enjoy playing sports and belong to several clubs. Their home has become cluttered, and in need of redecoration. Jen has taken the challenge of sorting their home on with enthusiasm, she’d love to have a home that looks well designed and fresh. She’s decided on a Scandi design that will compliment her love of the beach lifestyle. Scandi interiors will make her rooms feel light filled and give a sense of space. This style creates a relaxed and harmonious home, perfect for a busy family.

The focus of this week’s makeover challenges is the Miller’s snug. This is one of the smaller rooms in the Millers home, but small spaces can be a fun makeover challenge! This room has lovely tall windows bringing light flooding in. The perfect starting point for a Scandi snug. Jen has already bought a lovely wooden sideboard, some chairs, side table and two wooden textured stools.
There is plenty of furniture left to acquire, this is a great opportunity to go virtual shopping for the perfect pieces to finish this interior. It might be easiest to start by looking for the right sofa, you need to look for something that will complement the chairs and other furniture. It could have light wooden legs, or just be a similar shape and design. When you’ve got the larger pieces in the room it’s easy to finish the design by choosing the art and accessories. If you’re enjoying the redecorating process why not change the wall colour or the floor covering.
